In Arkansas, with blistering, humid heat, rain is often lacking for long expanses during the summer. In an area full of forestry and lakes and ponds, dry spells are a burden to the farming community as well as those who simply like to start a bon fire with their friends in a cow pasture. Burn bans in our state are a huge disappointment to rural areas all across the Natural State.
On the other hand, rain can become a bit of an issue for some people as well. The weather of Arkansas is notoriously tricky and unpredictable; our people consistently moan and groan in response to weathermen who may or may not have a reasonable outlook on the coming weather. Then, when we come across a wet spell and rain continuously falls, people still complain.
You know what I’ve realized? Arkansans are extremely picky about their weather. Now excuse me while I run outside and do the rain dance in the middle of a monsoon.
